The Crocus Project 2025 is now accepting registrations
Participation in The Crocus Project is free! Holocaust Education Ireland (HEI) provides schools with yellow crocus bulbs to plant in memory of the one and a half million Jewish children who perished in the Holocaust, as well as thousands of other children who were victims of Nazi atrocities.

Living History is a programme designed for students in which second- and third-generation Holocaust survivors and people with connections to the Holocaust visit schools and recount their families’ experiences and stories.

We host The Holocaust Webinar, a comprehensive program designed to educate participants about the Holocaust before, during, and after the Second World War. This interactive webinar provides valuable resources at no cost, equipping educators with the knowledge and tools to effectively teach their students about this critical subject. Join us to enhance your understanding and learn best practices for approaching the topic of the Holocaust in the classroom.

We organise study visits for teachers, professors, and anyone interested in the Holocaust and its history, offering two enriching experiences each year: one in spring to Berlin and another in autumn to Kraków. These visits include guided tours of significant historical sites, such as concentration camps, providing participants with a profound understanding of the events and their impact.

The Mary Elmes Prize in Holocaust Studies is named in honour of the only Irish person to receive the Righteous Among the Nations award. Senior Cycle students are invited to submit a History essay or artistic response (Art, Literature, Music) about any facet of the Holocaust that they would like to explore and raise awareness about.

Each year, Holocaust Education Ireland provides schools with crocus bulbs to plant in autumn in memory of all of the children who died in the Holocaust. Participation is free and teachers are provided with a Teacher’s Handbook, which contains a comprehensive set of lesson plans and resources.
