2022 Holocaust Memorial Lecture with Mark Roseman

Join us for the 2022 Holocaust Memorial Lecture, in association with the UCD School of History, which will be delivered by historian Mark Roseman on the topic ‘The Meeting, the Minutes - and Mass Murder. The Wannsee Conference 80 years on’.

Thursday 10 March 2022, 6-7pm

Live on Zoom. Please register here.

This year marks the 80th anniversary of the Wannsee Conference. On 20 January 1942, fifteen senior Nazi officials gathered at Wannsee to decide on the plan for the ‘Final Solution to the Jewish Question’: their attempt at the total annihilation of the Jewish people in Europe.

This lecture will explore the causes, course and consequences of the meeting at Wannsee, while investigating what lessons it holds for us today.

Mark Roseman is Professor of History and Chair in Jewish Studies at Indiana University. He is author of several books on Nazi Germany, the Holocaust, and Jewish life in Germany, notably: The Villa, the Lake, the Meeting: Wannsee and the Final Solution and Lives Reclaimed: A Story of Rescue and Resistance in Nazi Germany.
