The Holocaust Narrative Presentation for Schools
The Holocaust Narrative Presentation for Schools provides students with the historical context and contemporary significance of the Holocaust, tracing its development before, during, and after the Second World War. This presentation is suitable for Senior Cycle students from Transition Year to 6th Year.
The Holocaust is an interdisciplinary and cross-curricular topic that can be studied as part of many different subjects, including History, English, CSPE, Media Studies, and other subjects.
The presentation, delivered by experienced educators in this field, takes approximately 90 minutes and includes images, readings, survivors’ testimonies and other materials.

It is helpful if some study of the period that incorporates World War II and Nazi Germany is undertaken before the presentation. One needs to be aware of the contact in which Nazi Germany swept through Europe, persecuting and murdering their enemies.

A projector, preferably with speakers, is essential. Your Holocaust Education Ireland educator will bring the presentation on their own laptop or USB stick. A glass of water is important for your speaker, and sometimes a microphone is useful.

Holocaust Education Ireland does not charge for facilitating Holocaust educators to speak in schools. However, a voluntary contribution to cover your speaker’s time and travel expenses would be much appreciated.
Learning Outcomes
It is useful and helpful to have a reflection session after the talk and an opportunity to discuss any issues that may have impacted on the students. We would also like to know whether or not the students found the presentation useful, whether they consider it important to study the Holocaust, and whether they believe the subject is of relevance today.
