27 January: International Holocaust Memorial Day

Today, 27 January 2025, Holocaust Education Ireland marks International Holocaust Memorial Day. On this date, 80 years ago Auschwitz-Birkenau was liberated followed by all of the remaining Nazi concentration, slave labour and death camps at the end of the Second World War. We honour the memory of Jewish as well as all other victims of the Holocaust and acknowledge the survivors still living amongst us here in Ireland: Tomi Reichental, Suzi Diamond, Joe Veselsky, as well as 2nd, 3rd and 4th Generation survivors worldwide. Holocaust Education Ireland continues to educate about the Holocaust, preserving its memory in perpetuity.
